Had to include this photo for the memory of our embarrassment when Grandpa would head to the lake in his swim trunks with a bar of soap. He'd lather up all over and then plunge under to rinse. This evokes  another memory that has to be included: We had a raft out in deep water that was brought in each year at the end of the season. Dad & Grandpa went out one year to bring it in but had trouble unearthing the anchor from the muck at the bottom of the lake. They pulled and pulled, then finally SNAP the anchor gave and Grandpa lost his balance and did a backwards flip off the raft into the lake. When he emerged, he was covered in muck and trying frantically to get back to the raft. He was sputtering mad because his son was laughing too hard to give him a hand.
